Canadian Bacon

The Canadian Bacon Woodwind Quintet, a Canadian ensemble based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, began performing together in 2016. The quintet produces annual concerts which since 2023 have featured expanded membership to present wind decet repertoire. It is Canadian Bacon’s mission to explore and share both standard repertoire and newly written music for woodwind quintet and chamber winds. The group has commissioned repertoire by Chris Byman, Dr. Alexandra Fol, and Mark Holmes A’Court. Canadian Bacon performs in outreach programs for schools across the province, weddings, arts festivals, and chamber music series. The quintet is looking forward to visiting Montreal in September to share an all-Canadian program with Quebec audiences as part of the 2024 Journées de la Culture. The quintet has performed in the Wind Chamber Concert Series, St. James Anglican Historic Summer Series, and Charmaine & Friends Series.
